TELL ME MORE

The idea behind this informal social sewing session is very simple, getting a bunch of people together to sew. Bring along your own project, we’ll have a good natter, and get expert help if you need it.

I am on hand to help with cutting, sewing, construction, pattern cutting, garment fitting, garment altering, garment mending, general advice, and always with enthusiasm to help you on your way! We’ve got big tables you can use for cutting out on, or just use it as a 3 hour block where you can get your hand down and make good progress on your project without the distractions of being at home and the mountain of washing that probably needs doing!

We are trialling this with the aim of offering it on the first Monday every month.

COURSE OUTLINE

This is more of an informal session so I wont be teaching a structured class, I am on hand to help if you need advice with the project you are working on, and we can help and support each other as a group.

Things we could cover:

  • Cutting, including pattern matching

  • Sewing a tricky part of the project you’re working on

  • Garment fitting clinic

  • Garment altering or mending

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

  • Tea and coffee!

  • Big cutting tables

  • Sewing machines and iron

  • Support from Helen from Dot n Cross

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

The following are just ideas, as everyone will bring something different. Please note we don’t have patterns, fabric, threads or notions so you’ll need to bring everything you’ll need for your project.

  • The project you are working on, including pattern, fabric, thread, notions.

  • A toile or garment and its corresponding pattern if you want fitting advice

  • Garments to be altered or mended

WHO IS THIS workshop SUITABLE FOR?
